Experience Odyssey through an Oxford-style learning cohort.

Whether you are in London or OKC, a high school student or adult; whether your learning style is best described as intellectual adventurer or curious wanderer, we have a place for you in our OLA Learning Cohorts! Each Oxford-style Cohort offers participants opportunities to explore areas of interest with OLA instructors and Scholars-in-Residence at their own pace anytime, anywhere.

  • Cohort education refers to self-directed student research, driven by their interests and developing their skills in research project development, creativity, investigation, and application.  Cohorts are students with adjacent research interest within a given topic.  Students are expected to work independently (as an individual or in independent remote groups), preparing topics of discussion from their research, resourcing one another throughout their projects, and fostering a community of learners.  The Instructor facilitates students as a professional-learner within the topic.

  • Participants will work remotely with an OLA Mentor or an Odyssey Scholar-in-Residence (university professors and real-world experts) in an Oxford-style learning experience over the course of a semester for academic credit.

  • We are offering two different sections for each Learning Cohort: a student section for participants in middle-high school and an adult section for high school graduates 18 and over

  • Students are expected to work on their own time but will receive instruction, feedback, encouragement, and support from their instructor. Students will work remotely with instructors via a variety of online platforms (Google Classroom, Discord, FlipGrid, email e.g.)

  • Each Learning Cohort will provide students with equivalency credit in that given subject area (English, History, Mathematics, and Science)

  • Each Learning Cohort is $1,200

  • Cohorts must have five students to make, and will be capped at 15 students each
